Okay I have to admit I'm not much of a short story fan. However, I loved 98% of the stories. I'm the type of person who wants to read a long series. Like 11 books with a spin-off based on the characters kids. Some of the stories in this book were so good I could see them as the prequel to books. There was more meat on the bone so to speak. Meaning the story was just getting good. I really enjoyed reading Julie Hall's story. It was definitely something different for her to write. The overwhelming message from these stories was hope. Who doesn't want to sit down after a hard day at work and read something encouraging? Some were written like parables because the story was resembled others I have heard but with a new twist. This book goes to help Lani's family. They suffered a tragic loss after what should have been their most joyous time in life. Lani's story touches me because I had a friend with a very similar story. My friend was having her third child when they found stage 4 breast cancer. It's been a long time ago but I think she passed away before the baby was 6 months old. I definitely recommend this book even if you don't like short stories.
